Discovering, photographing, identifying and learning about nudibranchs and other extraordinary marine life from the Coral Triangle and beyond.

About MacroDivers

Exploring the small wonders of the underwater world

MacroDivers is an underwater macro photography and diving education site created by Andrew Grundy, a PADI Master Instructor, and Di Syrett, a nudibranch super fan with a sharp eye for the tiny details most divers swim past.

The site is all about nudibranchs and the wider world of macro diving: what they are, how to identify them, where to see them, how to photograph them and how to become a better, safer and more thoughtful diver while doing it.

You will find practical guides on nudibranch behaviour, food sources, anatomy, life cycles and identification, alongside destination notes from macro-rich dive locations, TG-7 and strobe setup advice, macro photography techniques, buoyancy skills, camera awareness, responsible muck diving and diving safety.

MacroDivers will continue to grow. We are building towards a dedicated nudibranch database and plan to expand beyond nudibranchs into other fascinating macro creatures such as frogfish, shrimp, crabs, seahorses, pipefish, octopus and the many small animals that make slow diving so rewarding.

About Us

Andrew & Di

MacroDivers was created by Andrew Grundy and Di Syrett to share their passion for underwater macro photography, dive travel and marine life identification. After meeting on a Blue Ocean Diving trip to the Philippines in 2024, they began travelling together to photograph nudibranchs, seahorses, frogfish, shrimps, cephalopods and other small wonders of the underwater world, with a strong focus on the Coral Triangle and other tropical dive destinations.
