Identification

A truly beautiful nudibranch and one of my favourites. Body is white but almost completely obscured by its huge cerata. The broad white cerata (4 or 5 pairs) have concentric rings of grey and gold. The smooth brown rhinophores protrude from a rhinophoral sheath. The head is edged with grey and gold. There is an orange ring that surrounds the rhinophoral sheath and is clearly visible on the white face.

Behaviour / Habitat

Donut dotos are exclusively carnivorous and feed on hydroids. It is on one of these hydrozoans that you are most likely to find one.

General Notes

Officially described and named in 2015. Prior to that was referred to as Doto sp 9.
