Identification

Adult Nembrotha milleri are large blue/green nudibranchs with a wrinkled appearance. Five multipinnate gills (non-retractable) and green lamellate rhinophores that are retractable. The juveniles are very different - with red spots on a dark dorsum. The foot, rhinophores and gills are blue/grey. As they develop they change to one colour and the red disappears although the spots may remain visible.

General Notes

The juveniles were, for many years, thought to be another as yet un-names species of Nembrotha.
