Indian Sea Hare
Widespread in Indo-Pacific.
Sea Hare with balloon shaped body but without a shell (which is completely absent in this species). The parapodia are fused and scattered with brown dots and white tubercles. The rhinophores are rolled.
Notarchus indicus can swim using jet propulsion by expelling water from the siphon located between the fused parapodia.
There is currently only one other species in this genus - Notarchus punctatus. It is very similar but larger. It is distinguished from the Styloheilus striatus (Lined Sea Hare) which has dark lines and an elongated tail.
